First of all, I have no idea why Chad-Alan Carr quit so suddenly from all of his positions. It is none of my business and even if I knew, I wouldn’t blast it all over social media. When I say, “I wish him well,” I mean it! My personal opinion, he went down a very dark path. I pray for him to find the light of the Lord Jesus Christ. We all need Jesus to light our path.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105 (KJV)

Gettysburg has become a cesspool of hate! It has become septic, and something that is septic is, “infected, harmful, putrid, and decayed.” But that doesn’t mean that Gettysburg as a whole is like this. There are still some very good people in it. There are still some very good events that take place. But we are fighting a new war that has to do with politics. I heard that in some schools, teaching about politics isn’t allowed. I grew up with history and government classes. The government is the bedrock of any society. A bedrock is defined as, “a strong idea, principle, or fact that supports something.” Problems arise when the leadership all have the same beliefs without the consideration of any other idea, principle, or fact. Then if someone opposes said leadership, the attacks can be vicious. The animosity spewed by those who support them is precisely why some people do not stand or step up. Then nothing changes which is also precisely what they want. They want things their way! Gettysburg has a Non-Discrimination Ordinance. The Gettysburg Borough Human Relations Commission reviews the complaints. This commission, it is my understanding has an all Liberal staff. This added to an all Liberal Borough Council and the two former mayors. So across the board there is and was all Liberals. It could only go in one direction. Which sadly and unfortunately we have seen.
Since it was posted that I am interested in being appointed as mayor, I have been called all kinds of stuff, even by a few nameless Republicans. I am keeping an eye on things. I have no issues filing defamation or slander charges. There are some very dirty Republicans within its own party. Believe me, I know! But if you have your own ideas and do not bow down to the system, the system will try to destroy you. It is just a proven fact. In my case, they have to go through Jesus, and they won’t get very far.
But if I am appointed, and that is a very big IF, it is something I know I can do and do well. Gettysburg’s reputation – gone! It needs a reset. They tried to restructure it and change what made it so famous. The biggest mistake was running the reenactors out of town, by wanting to remove the history. It used to be packed with reenactors and not just for special events.

Confederate reenactors are now hated, to the point, they verbally attacked a fifteen year old honoring his 3 or 4x great-grandfather. It is sickening! One woman stated that I paraded my son around the Town Square, in the heat of summer, in his Confederate uniform. Her information was entirely wrong. He wasn’t my son. I didn’t parade him. Jason and I defended him and protected him, as the week before he was, as previously stated, verbally attacked. But I don’t know how to fix it other than to push back! History here is in desperate need of both sides! But why come to a town, do something good via Living History, and spend a whole lot of money, only to be treated with disgust? There is a new war going on in Gettysburg. I can help fight it but only if appointed.
But back to what that woman said about being dressed in a uniform in the heat of summer. Is that not what the soldiers did during the Battle of Gettysburg? Children want to learn about their history and some even want to portray it. But both sadly and pathetically, the protests have stopped a lot of parents bringing their kids, and with good reason. There are permit violations, noise ordinances violations, people in the streets waving signs with profanity, crosswalks being blocked etc. It is horrific! The former Mayor Frealing stated the following:
“Want to make sure there’s walkways and people aren’t in the street because you don’t want them to get hurt.”
“And also have to make for people who are just downtown for restaurants and stuff and all that because I have gotten complaints from business owners that it is disrupting their business. But its the public square.”
It was an epic failure on her part! She offered no relief to any of the business owners. I sent proof of the disruptions along with the permit violations and nothing was ever done. In fact, I was told that “No violations were ever reported.” Other people reported them as well. But because the leadership is an all Liberal one, they will do what they want for the sake of their own party. A mayor should care about the community regardless of party affiliation. Afterall that is why he or she is a public servant – to serve the public! Rita did not keep her word from the above interview. FACTS! But she is interested in getting her job back as mayor. For the sake of the business owners, tourists, town residents, and history, I sincerely hope that does not happen. I absolutely agree that she made history when she was first elected. I remember how proud I was. She made history. I just want to make a difference!
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD & GETTYSBURG!
