I saw on Facebook, the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I also read the comments – both good and bad. I may not have agreed with some of her decisions, but truly this woman was a great icon. She paved the way for a new era of women, to press through the muck and mire, and forge their own path.
I am trying to remember a time when Democrats and Republicans worked together, for the common good of America. John F. Kennedy once stated:
“Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.“
Abraham Lincoln once stated:
“Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right.“
There was a time when Democrats and Republicans did work together. But, it seems like ancient history. This is God’s country and if we can trace back to where we removed Him, we can see where the great divide began. The only way to fix what is wrong with America, is to start where America banned God and ask Him to return.
There was a time when a Democrat could vote for his or her candidate, or a Republican could vote for his or her candidate, and not lose a friendship, or be called horrible names in the process. We use to be able to disagree and still remain tolerant and peaceful of the other person’s right to choose. But that right to choose, came with the high price tag, of killing innocent babies from abortion and even more evil, late term abortions. After all, murder IS still murder – no matter how one tries to justify it. So, where does one draw the line?
Sometimes we are thrown into war, not because we seek it. But because it sought us out, by the decisions that have been handed to us by other people. PA Governor Wolf and the Secretary of Health Dr. Levine, are a prime example. Even the Declaration of Independence states:
“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.“
Duty is defined as “a moral or legal obligation, responsibility.” It also has to do with alliance and allegiance. Where is our loyalty and to whom? A moral and responsible person, cannot and will not sit idly by and watch America burn to the ground. Even if we are not warriors. We become warriors out of necessity. I do not like to have to speak up so boldly against the beliefs, and decisions of others. But when they are harmful to my family or to my fellow man, and to the founding of this country, I have to. It becomes my civic and moral responsibility to take a stand. It doesn’t mean I enjoy it. It just means I am doing what I believe is the right thing to do.
With the election so close in November, the fires of hate continue to be ignited. Those set on America’s destruction, have no idea of what their future will be like, if America was actually destroyed. There is no thought process, just their immediate hate of our President, and the rich history of this nation. America’s history might be marred. But without the remembrance of slavery – there would be no need to remember Martin Luther King Jr., or Rosa Parks – other pioneers like Justice Ginsburg. These great and astonishing people – their fortitude begins to weaken. Why? Without the fight, there is no need to overcome. I am NOT saying that slavery was a good thing. But, it is part of our American history. Yet, the people that overcame it and forged new rivers of their own destinies… Wow! This is the backbone of America that the Left wants to remove. This is why we are at war inside our own borders. Abraham Lincoln also stated:
“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”
I thank God, we have a President who is not allowing us to destroy ourselves. He has the weight of the world on his shoulders, because America is the last best hope of the earth.
“Fellow-citizens, we cannot escape history. We of this Congress and this administration, will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal significance, or insignificance, can spare one or another of us. The fiery trial through which we pass, will light us down, in honor or dishonor, to the latest generation. We say we are for the Union. The world will not forget that we say this. We know how to save the Union. The world knows we do know how to save it. We — even we here — hold the power, and bear the responsibility. In giving freedom to the slave, we assure freedom to the free — honorable alike in what we give, and what we preserve. We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth. Other means may succeed; this could not fail. The way is plain, peaceful, generous, just — a way which, if followed, the world will forever applaud, and God must forever bless.“
Abraham Lincoln; December 1, 1862
We truly cannot escape history. We must accept our own responsibility for the future and continue to fight till this war against Socialism is won. When leaders are refusing and failing to lead, it is time we throw off such Government, and provide new Guards for our future security. We must vote in the upcoming elections. Christians – it is our moral and civic duty to vote. All I have to say is, pray about who God wants you to vote for. If you truly are a Christian, you will seek HIS will.
Justice Ginsburg, may you rest in peace. My deepest condolences to your family, friends and colleagues.
