This blog is a continuation of the one from yesterday. https://julianalove.com/2026/10/21/lack-of-real-leadership/
The Gettysburg Borough Manager Charles R. Gable emailed me:
“Thank you for sharing your perspective. I have thoughts about the protests downtown as well but am not at liberty to share as they are my personal opinion.”
Three words come to mind, Dereliction of Duty. The legal term defines it as:
“The intentional or negligent failure to perform essential duties or to meet established standards of care and performance. It implies a breach of trust or accountability that can harm others, the organization, or public interests. Key elements typically include a duty to act, a breach of that duty, and resulting harm or risk. In some contexts, intent or gross negligence intensifies the severity and potential penalties.”
Although in Pennsylvania DOD is not considered a crime (unless it is a military issue) but outside of the military, it can still result in disciplinary action, lawsuits, or both depending on “the intentional or negligent failure to perform essential duties, or to meet established standards of care and performance.” It is proven Mr. Gable, that my opinions of the matter are factual with well established documentation of the “intentional gross negligence” of the Gettysburg Borough leadership, to provide a safe environment during these weekly Saturday protests. To use “Freedom of Speech” is nothing more than an excuse for the standard of care that you, the Mayor, Borough Council, and the Code Enforcement officer should be providing and do not.
From yesterday’s blog:
“I have several goals as Mayor, including making sure our community remains a sustainable and welcoming place for all.”
First, let’s discuss the word, “remains.” It is defined as, “to stay in the same place or in the same condition.” This would imply that our Gettysburg community is already sustainable and a welcoming place for all. I can assure you it is not.”
Hard working people, residents, and tourists, suffer needlessly at the hands of the Gettysburg leadership and their intentional unwillingness to provide a safe environment for the town. Let’s define the word, “intentional.” It is defined as, “done on purpose; deliberate.” That is what makes their behavior so disgusting. They know exactly what they are doing, by not doing anything! This goes back to their hatred of President Trump. So, they put the community they claim to care about at risk of harm, danger, and hardship. “Welcoming place for all?” Define “all” Mayor Lintal. Because it surely isn’t those who are affected by these protests. It surely isn’t people like Jason and I being called, “racists”and being harassed by the protesters because we are Trump supporters. It surely isn’t the tourists who used to come here on a Saturday, resulting in a huge loss of revenue for the businesses. Anyone with a half a brain knows your “welcoming place for all” is total garbage. Perhaps you should read the manual on what your job description actually is, not what the Borough Council wants it to be. Please do provide an accurate description of where “affordable housing” is in your job description. I have personally read that manual many times and I can assure you, it is not in there. But didn’t you serve as an attorney for the US Department of Housing? How convenient! However, “Right to Know” forms are forthcoming!
It is due to the intentional lack of action by the Mayor, Borough Council, Code Enforcement Officer, and the Gettysburg Manager that I must pursue this matter futher.
This was sent to me yesterday:
“Gettysburg needs people who actually share the values of the community.“
This was sent to me this morning:
“First of all that square is a disaster waiting to happen when u drive through with all the mental illness harassing locals and visitors. These in power are in another world and not a good one. Gburg is not safe!!“
I couldn’t agree more!
Respectfully,
Juliana Love
