I have to admit, this latest round of attacks shocked me when Chuck Messersmith, the owner of Bourbon Mill Bar & Grill at New Oxford, decided to cut ties with Senator Mastriano. Apparently, Chuck felt there were too many people that hated Mastriano and the association with him was hurting his business. I still cannot wrap my head around his idiotic nonsense. But Chuck’s true colors have been shown, and he will find out that the patriots won’t patronize his business any longer.

Before I go any further, I want to talk about these signs and billboards I have been seeing how Doug is not a “politician,” he is a “patriot.” Because as a writer I deal with words, let me define the two just to be clear. A politician is defined as, “a person who is professionally involved in politics, especially as a holder of or a candidate for an elected office.” A patriot is defined as, “a person who vigorously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors.” Doug is exactly both. He is a politician with the heart of a patriot. I have also seen videos about how politicians are not leaders. They are servants. Actually, there again, they are (supposed to be) both. In Doug’s case, he is a leader with the heart of a servant. Unfortunately, we have seen the cruelty of the failed Wolf and Biden Administrations who became dictators, instead of leaders with hearts of a servant. Ever since the pandemic, no one, and I mean no one has fought harder for our freedoms then Senator Mastriano. I saw the grief in his eyes and how he poured his heart and soul into fighting for businesses, and to have some of those owners turn their backs on him, is astonishing. Betrayal is, “treacherous” and “broken trust.” It hurts and it just plain sucks! I write this with tears in my eyes because of how sad I am. But we are not, “sunshine patriots.”

The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army. Our cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves us only the choice of brave resistance, or the most abject submission. Let me point out the fact that we are part of the, “unborn millions.” George Washington was talking about us, our children, grandchildren and future generations.

“THE FATE OF UNBORN MILLIONS WILL NOW DEPEND, UNDER GOD, ON THE COURAGE AND CONDUCT OF THIS ARMY.”

Guess what? We are part of God’s army – of Mastriano’s army – to get this Commonwealth out of the hands of murderers. You think abortion isn’t murder? You are sadly mistaken. Governor Wolf and Dr. Levine are murderers. They put COVID-19 infected patients back into nursing homes and over 10,000 innocent people died. Governor Wolf will veto any bill against abortion under the disguise of “women’s rights.” Yet, he claims to be a man of faith. HA! Show me in the Bible where abortion is okay? President Trump once stated at the 47th Annual March for Life:

“We cannot know what our citizens yet unborn will achieve, the dreams they will imagine, the masterpieces they will create, the discoveries they will make.  But we know this: Every life brings love into this world.  Every child brings joy to a family.  Every person is worth protecting.  And above all, we know that every human soul is divine, and every human life –- born and unborn –- is made in the holy image of Almighty God. Together, we will defend this truth all across our magnificent land.  We will set free the dreams of our people. And with determined hope, we look forward to all of the blessings that will come from the beauty, talent, purpose, nobility, and grace of every American child.“

The fate of the Commonwealth, our children being set free from these heartless and cruel mask and vaccine mandates, rests on our conduct. But as stated above, we are not “Sunshine Patriots” nor are we, “Summer Soldiers.” I was at Valley Forge yesterday (February 13, 2022) and it was actually snowing.

Beautiful scenery for sure. But back in the winter of 1777 and 1778, Continental Soldiers did not have our kinds of luxury. They didn’t have heat they could turn on. Food was in short supply. Even if some had full uniforms, winters back then froze rivers and they had to sleep in these huts. Many died of disease and starvation.

And here we are into the 21st century because of those soldiers. Yet people like Chuck Messersmith want to cut ties with Senator Mastriano, not because of what he stands for. But because of others who hate him, and what they stand for. Tell me Chuck, did you ever serve your country? Do you believe in abortion? Did not Doug also fight for your business? I just saw that you will be closing early because of no staff. Gee! I wonder why that is. Tell me, Chuck. Isn’t your staff shortage due to the failed Wolf Administration and his draconian way of handling the pandemic? Yet, somehow Doug Mastriano is the bad guy. Common sense tells me that you will be out of the business you claim you are trying to keep, very soon!

Onward. I cannot honestly say if Doug Mastriano will be the next Governor of Pennsylvania. But I do know this. The REAL patriots will stand by him. I said in my last blog when Facebook took down his page.

“Brace yourselves. It will get uglier before it gets beautiful.”

What Chuck did and other businesses who have done the same thing, it cuts deep. I am not going to claim it doesn’t. But we will heal. We will carry on and we will stand by our leader who is a servant; and who is a politician and a patriot. The fate of millions depends on it!
